Shreya's Corner: Sad

12/26/19 – You know what doesn’t help, but is true nonetheless? “Everything will pass, and it won’t even matter later.” Yeah, we all know that. If that advice were to help, then you wouldn’t be on this page right now. Now, don’t take my advice for fact. I don’t know the extremity of your situation, nor the specificity of it. To start off, though, let’s do some exercises. Let’s think about the things that make you happy: you have a spectacular friend who is so considerate that she made this blog post just for you (no, no, no need to thank me). You are so accomplished and have so much potential (I can say this for sure, because only my friends can see this, and you’re one of them 🙂 ). You have so much strength, and you’ve made it through rough times (let me be honest, I live an easy life and do not deserve anything that I have), you deserve everything I have and more. You are so worth it. Whatever you are dealing with, you are so much better than all of it. You have my wishes with you. Every time you visit this page, [insert whichever Higher Power you believe in] receives a prayer from me. Yeah, I programmed that. I’m telling you, with me as your friend, anything is possible.

If you want real advice, use it at your own risk. Cry it out. Cry as much as you want with as much satisfaction as you can squeeze out of it. Think about it in every aspect, I know that sounds scary, but that’s how I truly move on from everything. If you think all about it and analyze it as much as possible, you’ll spare yourself from becoming sad about it again. Once you get tired of crying, you’ll find the desire to move on. Moral of the story is that you shouldn’t be afraid to cry. Work those lacrimal glands!
